2A Girls Regionals: Lynden 58, Bainbridge 26

The #1 seed Lynden Lions began defense of their 2024 state championship with a 58-26 win over #8 Bainbridge, Saturday at Mount Vernon High School.

 

The Lions advance to the state quarterfinals, and will play Port Angeles or Columbia River, Thursday, at 5:30pm, in the Yakima SunDome.

 

The Spartans took a 2-0 lead on the Lions, then the Lions scored the next 12 points and never looked back.  They led 17-8 at the quarter and 36-13 at halftime.

 

Sophomore guard Finley Parcher led the Lions with 21 points in three quarters of play.  The Lions defense held the Spartans to single digit scoring in each quarter.

 

Junior forward Payton Mills scored 13 for the Lions, while sophomore point guard Lexi Hermanutz added 11. 

 

Bainbridge will play a loser out game in the SunDome on Wednesday at 9:00pm, against Woodland.
