The Mount Baker Mountaineers logged their first win of the season, with a 61-51 non-conference victory of the South Whidbey Falcons, Tuesday night in the Mount Baker Fieldhouse.
Kell Reardon, a 6-5 freshman, dominated the interior of the Falcons defense, with 15 points and a truck-load of rebounds. The Mountaineers were quicker to the ball all night, netting several second chance points, which offset early trouble knocking down free throws.
Junior guard, Luke Smith added 11 points for the Mountaineers. The trio of sophomores Peyton Abitia, Carter Hill, and junior Christopher Armbright added nine points each.
Mount Baker is 1-1 on the season and will play at Orcas Island on Friday. The Falcons, of the 1A Emerald City Coho division, are 0-1.
